Dr. Y. Armanazi, D.D.S. (picture coming soon!)

Dr. Y. Armanazi, as a specialist in pediatric dentistry and Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certification), fellow of the American Academy Of Pediatric Dentistry. He is commonly known as “Dr. A” by his patients and parents at the practice.

Dr. Armanazi received his dental degree from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine. His postgraduate education and training in pediatric dentistry was completed at the University of Tennessee. This two-year residency included training in the management of different aspects of the dental needs of children. Additionally, after completing his pediatric residency, he continued to The Ohio State University, Children’s Hospital and spent one year in an advanced fellowship emphasizing behavioral management techniques and hospital dentistry for children. During his fellowship he served as an instructor of Pediatric Dentistry at the Ohio State University Dental School.

Dr. Armanazi is currently an Assistant Professor and served seven years as the Director of the Pediatric Dental Clinic at Case Western Reserve University. He is currently on the medical staff at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. He has over twelve years of teaching and practice experience in the pediatric dental field.

Dr. Armanazi served on the Editorial Board of two peer reviewed pediatric journals—“Pediatric Dentistry” and “Dentistry for Children”. He has co-authored several pediatric dental and medical textbooks and has numerous publications.

He is currently a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Ohio Dental Association. Dr. Armanazi serves as treasurer and on the executive board of the Northeast Ohio Dental Society.

Dr. Armanazi and his wife, Rawa, have two adorable girls, Ayah and Massa. Dr. A enjoys being home with his family. His interests include reading books, hiking, and going to the zoo!

Sandy Thompson RDH:

Sandy Thompson, is a Registered Dental Hygienist. Commonly known as “Miss Sandy” by patients. She brings to our pediatric dental practice over twenty years of hygiene expertise.

Sandy graduated from Lakeland Community College in 1977. Twenty-nine (and counting) of those thirty years of hygiene have been dedicated solely to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Sandy has the ability to make dentistry fun for kids while putting sparkle into their smiles. She believes humor is a must with children in the dental chair and is a powerful motivator for children to take pride in caring for their smiles. Cheerful, caring, genuine, and compassionate are only some of her many chair side personality characteristics. Through her years of dental hygiene care she has proved that laughter and creativity are perhaps the best ways to enjoy dental visits.

Sandy’s expertise in children’s dental health is evident through the number of public schools and daycare she has educated. Thousands of children have been touched by her enthusiasm to take care of their smiles.

Sandy is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Psi Rho and Sigma Phi Alpha, Chi Chi Upsilon Lakeland Chapter. Memberships include the American Dental Hygienists Association and Northeastern Ohio Dental Hygienists Association.

Sandy speaks yearly at Lakeland Community College educating dental hygiene students about pediatric dentistry and motivation to thrive as a professional in the career of dental hygiene.

Sandy is married to Chip and has three sons, Todd, Tim, and Trevor. She loves being active outdoors—hike, walk, jog, swim! Crafting seashore themed items, making beaded jewelry, baking, and writing are some of her interests.
